Sato Ryuta will take on the leading role in NTV's spring 2013 drama "Detarame Hero" (Nonsense Hero) which is due to begin its run from 4 April in the 11.58pm timeslot on Thursdays. The drama is a comedy about how Kenta (Sato) who is a good-for-nothing saddled with debts and womaniser, happens to get something by chance which transforms him into a "hero" by enhancing his physical powers and five senses by 10 times but the effect only lasts for 10 minutes. All along, most of Sato's roles were the kind, passionate and righteous type but this is the first time he is playing someone so hopeless without any obvious good points. Sato commented that he looks forward to playing such a character who regards his powers as something good to have but never intends to use it to fight evil or uphold justice and yet unwittingly becomes a hero.
