Screening commemoration event of new movie "Jojo no kimyou na bouken Diamond wa kudakenai Dai Isshou"

The screening commemoration event of new movie "Jojo no kimyou na bouken Diamond wa kudakenai Dai Isshou" was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills on 5 August which was attended by the director Miike Takashi and cast members Yamazaki Kento, Kamiki Ryuunosuke, Komatsu Nana, Okada Masaki, Arata Mackenyu, Yamada Takayuki and Iseya Yuusuke. The movie was released in cinemas on the previous day.

Yamazaki greeted the audience and thanked them for coming to this event. The audience replied with a resounding applause when he asked how they felt about the movie. Yamazaki then revealed that this movie has a special position in his heart and he was really happy to have come this far with the support of everyone. Since this year is the 30th anniversary of the Jojo manga, he hoped that the movie will be a boost to this special occasion. In response, Miike said that if everyone wished for it, they may be able to make a sequel with the same team next time.

When asked about any interesting episodes during the filming, Komatsu who worked with Yamazaki for the first time, revealed that Yamazaki came across as a fascinating character to her especially when she saw him chasing after pigeons on a beach in Barcelona. Yamada then joked that Yamazaki would make strange remarks like "he feels like it's time to eat chickens" after eating steaks for a few consecutive days so they actually felt like he was going after the pigeons because he wanted to eat them.

When asked about what kind of special powers they wished to have, Iseya joked to Arata that he already has a special power as if his father Sonny Chiba is standing behind him. He then continued to say that he was surprised when Arata announced his new stage name which didn't have his father's surname. In response, Arata said that he was actually fine with using the surname Chiba but after discussions with his agency, they decided on using Arata instead.
