ARASHI & Ayase Haruka reportedly selected to host the 64th NHK Kouhaku Utagassen

According to an article from Yomiuri Hochi, ARASHI and Ayase Haruka are said to be hosting the 64th NHK Kouhaku Utagassen which will be held on 31st December 2013 and broadcast live via NHK. This will be the fourth year running for ARASHI and the first attempt for Ayase who plays the heroine in this year's Taiga "Yae no Sakura".  For the past two years, the heroines in morning dramas had been selected to be the host for the red team i.e. Inoue Mao in 2011 and Horikita Maki in 2012 so this will also be the first time since Nakama Yukie's appearance as the red team's host that a Taiga heroine takes on this task.

Well, there are bound to be days when I take a break from blogging due to work, fatigue or sometimes due to a lack of news to post. Besides, this isn't a 24/7 newswire so you will notice that there are some days when I post many translations of articles at one go and there are days when I don't post a single thing. ^__^

As to why I say that there are times when there are no news to post, there are some months in the year which I call "off-peak in dramaland" and they are usually the mid-season months i.e. Feb, May, Aug and Nov. In the month when a new season starts and the month when a drama season ends, there are bound to be lots of stories about the current and new offerings. During mid-season, most of the stories about dramas have a lot to do with ratings trends and trivia or gossip of the ongoing dramas which I rarely post so you will notice a bit inactivity during these months.

Please don't be alarmed if you see a bit of inactivity over a few days because I will usually be back after taking a short break. Do continue supporting this blog and leaving your comments here! :-)
