Miura Shohei to star in AbemaTV's 2nd anniversary commemorative drama series "Kaisha wa gakkou janeendayo"

Miura Shohei will be starring in AbemaTV's 2nd anniversary commemorative drama series "Kaisha wa gakkou janeendayo" (A company is not a school) which will be shown over 8 weeks from April 2018 and marks his first leading role in a drama series. The drama is based on the book "Shibuya de hataraku shachou no kokuhaku" (The confession of a company president who works at Shibuya) by Fujita Susumu, the president of CyberAgent, who came up with this project and the script will be written by Suzuki Osamu. AbemaTV is jointly funded by TV Asahi and CyberAgent.

The revenge success story describes the current trend of how many young people these days become venture entrepreneurs without seeking full-time employment and focuses on the themes of dreams, love, money and friendship. The lead character Fujimura Teppei used to hang out on the streets of Shibuya without an aim in life and happens to come across a book written by the president of a venture company. This inspires him to enter that venture company but Teppei finds that the life of a company employee does not go as he expected and he even gets betrayed by the president who he had admired. After leaving the company, he joins forces with his friends to open a company of his own and has to overcome various difficulties such as being looked down by others and getting betrayed by the people he trusts. Teppei's cool and clever buddy Hidaka Takumi will be played by Saotome Taichi while the heroine Mizukawa Hanako, a model who wants to become an entrepreneur after the magazine she was working for goes under, will be played by Uno Misako. Matsuoka Koudai will play Sasakawa Shota, the junior of Teppei and Hidaka who joins them in setting up the business.

Miura commented that when he read the script, he was struck by how difficult it was to set up a company and grow with the company as well as manage interpersonal relationships. He described his character as someone who would do anything for his goal, thinks out of the box and is very decisive and persistent. As such, he felt that this drama would be an encouragement to those who are thinking of starting their own business or unsure of what to do in future.
